Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about running email infrastructure on MailGrid.

What is MailGrid?

MailGrid is a multi-tenant email infrastructure platform. It lets organisations onboard their own domains, provision mailboxes, wire up SPF/DKIM/DMARC, and send and receive email that reaches the inbox, with a built-in webmail and support for any IMAP/SMTP client.

Do I use my own domain?

Yes. Every tenant runs email on domains they control, with white-label DNS (mail/imap/smtp records) and full authentication. Mail is sent and received as your brand, never ours.

Which email clients are supported?

The built-in webmail works everywhere, and you can connect Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, and Thunderbird over standard IMAP (993, TLS) and SMTP (587, STARTTLS).

How does MailGrid keep mail out of spam?

Sending domains are authenticated with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC, outbound mail is delivered through a reputable provider with your signature, and inbound mail is classified and scored so spam is separated from your inbox.

Can I send and receive, or just send?

Both. Outbound mail is delivered through Amazon SES; inbound mail arrives over MX, is classified into Primary, Promotions, Updates, Social, and Forums, and stays in sync across every connected client.

Is my data isolated from other tenants?

Yes. Domains, mailboxes, contacts, templates, and messages are strictly isolated per tenant.

How do I get started?

Get in touch at contact@mailgrid.ng and we'll help you onboard your first domain and mailboxes.
